Job Description
The Manager-Insurance leads the insurance function with the objective of streamlining the process of patient insurance claims and recovery through effective liaising with insurance companies while maximizing patient satisfaction. Responsible for overseeing the insurance operations and designing, implementing and training NMH staff on insurance protocols.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Oversees administration of medical services to Insurance and Corporate customers of the Hospital.
2. Manages and negotiates contracts with insurance companies to obtain recognition as a service provider.
3. Liaises with insurance companies regarding eligibility, payments, reconciliation and other requirements.
4. Reviews insurance claims to ensure accuracy as per agreement, prior to dispatch to respective insurance companies.
5. Proactively reports critical issues to Management and submits monthly and other reports to CFO, Hospital Director and Accounts.
6. Designs, updates and implements policies, procedures and protocols to ensure efficiency and accuracy in insurance operations.
7. Monitors insurance discounts and rejections and prepares & submits periodic reports to the CFO for review.
8. Ensures that the insurance schemes are up to date on the system
9. Ensures the delivery of excellent patient experience while approval is sought for insurance claims.
10. Develops the unit budget and ensures departmental operations are effectively conducted within the budget.
11. Trains physicians, Reception, Department and other staff in insurance protocols.
12. Conducts weekly departmental meetings with staff for updates and to educate them on new work methods.
13. Initiates steps to improve the departmental functioning.
14. Enhances professional growth, training and development through participation in training programs, current literature and in service meetings.
15. Attends meetings as required.
16. Performs other related duties as assigned by the CFO.
Desired Candidate Profile
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Medicine. Masters preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Preferably 10 years’ experience in the field of insurance with at least 3 years as a team leader in Healthcare in the Gulf countries.
