About Uniting AgeWell Manningtree - Independent Living Apartments

Uniting AgeWell's Independent Living in Hawthorn is similar to a Retirement Village apartment complex - and it is stunning! It's hospitality features include a beautiful lobby that consists of a well-equipped and spacious cafe with kitchenette attached, along with a delightful indoor and outdoor seating area for residents and guests to enjoy barista-style coffee and restaurant quality meals.

About the role:

A high standard of services for residents in accordance with individual requirements and preferences, the current planned menu and requirements of the Food Safety Program that supports and enhances resident’s individual needs and wellbeing.

  • Permanent shifts - daily Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm
  • Occasional evening shifts for functions
  • Table service
  • Barista coffee making
  • Washing dishes
  • Sandwich making
  • Food preparation
  • Following food safety guidelines
  • Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with residents, their relatives and friends
  • Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents/clients, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices.

This is the place for you if you:

  • Are experienced in barista-style coffee making - a must have
  • Available 5 days a week, Mon to Fri 10am-3pm
  • Available occasional evenings to support guest functions
  • Have experience and expertise working in food service; preferably in a health, hotel or aged care setting
  • Are a barista extraordinaire and Cafe Allrounder!
  • Are known for your caring and compassionate, friendly nature
  • Have the initiative and ability to work without supervision
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
  • Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children & Vulnerable People card
  • Current and ongoing flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance
